It runs cooler at the same current and holds higher voltages, so it goes where a lot of power is handled, such as electric vehicle drivetrains and data center power distribution. It is harder and costlier to make than silicon, which limited its use, but as data center power distribution moves to 800 volts there are now ranges silicon cannot cover, and demand is growing.
