JGB
JGB stands for Japanese Government Bond. Like US Treasuries, JGBs are the benchmark for Japanese interest rates, and because Japanese investors and institutions hold enormous amounts of foreign bonds too, how much they want to hold JGBs versus assets abroad has outsized effects on global capital flows and yields.
