Kioxia jumps 17%, Samsung 6%, as the AI trade rallies across memory, optics, and neoclouds

Serenity runs down a broad green screen across the AI trade. Memory names led: Kioxia, Japan's flash-memory maker (spun off from Toshiba in 2018, listed in Tokyo in December 2024), finished up 17.18%, while Samsung Electronics rose 6.15%. The rally wasn't confined to memory. Optical-networking suppliers SiFotonics, Lumentum, and Applied Optoelectronics all gained more than 4%, showing signs of recovering from a recent pullback. Neoclouds, the GPU-rental startups like Nebius and IREN, were also up more than 4% premarket, and chipmakers Intel, AMD, and Marvell rode the same wave. Serenity's own comment pokes fun at CNBC's Jim Cramer, whose gloomy note the night before, "miserable close, miserable market," stands in sharp contrast to the morning's across-the-board green. The breadth matters more than any single ticker: when memory, optics, and neoclouds all move together, it usually signals capital rotating back into the whole AI-infrastructure stack at once rather than a stock-specific story, the same pattern that preceded past legs of this year's memory-supercycle rally in SK Hynix and its peers. Whether it holds past the open is the open question.

Why it matters · Broad, simultaneous gains across memory, optics, and neoclouds are the tell that capital is rotating back into the whole AI-infrastructure stack, not just chasing one stock.

Worth asking · Is this broad AI-trade rally the start of a durable leg up, or a dead-cat bounce after last week's selloff?
